My Story

My name is Madison, and my yoga journey began years ago when I was a young teen looking for a way to move my body that felt good. In my adolescence, I experienced chronic effects of Lyme Disease, which left me with lots of joint pain and fatigue. As an active girl, I didn’t want to sacrifice my love for fitness just because moving through high impact workouts didn’t feel good to me. This is when I found yoga.

Ten years ago, I stepped into my first yoga class and dreamt of leading my own someday. During my college years, I went through a 200-hour instructor training and began teaching at a local studio in the city where I live. I love teaching in person and still do every week, but for a long time I have wanted to give people the option to practice with me outside of the studio space.

Yoga is a high-intensity, low-impact form of movement that strengthens both the mind and the body. I fell in love with it immediately, but unfortunately didn’t live near any studios at the time of discovering it.

My mission with Haven is to bring yoga into the lives of many, especially those who don’t have easy access to it. Whether you don’t live near a studio, would rather practice in the comfort of your home, or are simply just curious about trying it out, I invite you into this remote space where we can confidently move and learn together.
